Worker killed while unloading subway panels in Brooklyn

Authorities have said that a New York City Transit subcontractor was killed in Brooklyn while unloading heavy panels from the back of a truck.

The man was the driver of the truck that was carrying the load and he brought the materials to Avenue M station in Midwood around 8 a.m. The truck was loaded with subway panels, large metal sections that are used to be the exterior wall in a subway.

The man was working on a project with the station that was suppose to renovate the subway station. As he unloaded the panels, the load shifted and crushed the man. No further details of the accident were released. The subcontractor worked for Preferred Transit Inc. which is based out of New Jersey.
