A Texas woman was injured in a train accident after she collided with an Amtrak train last week.
The accident occured at 2:45 a.m. at the railroad crossing near S. Bowen Street in Arlington. The woman had just hit a curb in her SUV and knocked the tire lose, she continued to drive down the roadway, but was traveling south in the northbound lanes.
When she arrived at the railroad crossing, the gates were not down on that side of the road so she collided with the slow-moving train. She suffered a fractured leg and other internal injuries and was transported to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.
