The Massachusetts-based company, Jonathan Sprouts, has announced a voluntary food product recall of alfalfa sprouts after it was found that they may be contaminated with salmonella.

The recall was made on April 20 and no illnesses were reported at this time. The contamination was done in a routine inspection by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Microbiological Data Program.

The recalled products have a sell-by date of April 23 and are in cardboard cartons that are marked with ‘code 397.” The recalled products were mostly distributed in the New England area.
