Fatal crashes cost an average of $6 million

A car crash occurs in the U.S. every 15 minutes and a recent report shows that each car crash can cost up to $6 million.

The Federal Highway Administration takes 11 factors into account when determining the cost of each crash. These include legal costs, property damage, and emergency services.

AAA stated that U.S. spent nearly $300 million in crashes in 2008 and the insurance company is hoping that Congress will help to improve traffic safety so that they can save lives and save money.This data is in a report called “Crashes vs. Congestion- What’s the cost to society.”
