It is no secret that China
is the main supplier for almost all of Wal-Mart's items. It is also no secret that the safety and
health standards in China are not only lax, but no where close to the safety
and health standards of America.
Wal-Mart is taking the initiative
to make it’s Chinese suppliers clean up their factories. Most Chinese factors produce and amazing
amount of waste and pollution. The
company is signing a new agreement giving China new guidelines in how to
produce their products, so that there is less negative environmental impact.
Wal-Mart is requiring that
all of their products be fixed with a private label, so that only those
products that have undergone this change, will be fixed with the label and sold
in stores world wide. Defective and dangerous products have been coming out of
China for many years, this is Wal-Mart’s attempt to amend this problem. But will it work?
