Fire Destroys Parts of Universal Studios

Monday, 2 June 2008 04:26 by Admin

Late Saturday evening, a fire was supposedly started in the Universal Studios theme park in Los Angelos, California.  Officials immediately arrived on the scene and began working quickly to put out the overwhelming fire that was taking over the entire theme park. Officials say that many of the movie sets and background areas were badly burned in the blaze. The fire also took over a room that held quite a few movie reels and in their plastic cases which were quickly set ablaze.

Late into Sunday afternoon, the fire was still smoldering in quite a few areas of the Universal Studios grounds. Officials have yet to say why the fire was started. Although much of the sets were damaged, Universal Studios says they are working hard to open back up by Monday morning for a normal day. They are working hard to find the cause to this tremendous fire and rebuild the sets that were either damaged or destroyed in the massive fire.

Fire in San Antonio Dorms

Monday, 12 May 2008 06:22 by Admin

Over the weekend, students were evacuated from their dorm at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. A large fire broke out in the dorm where more than 111 students were housed. The administrative offices were also at the bottom floor of the building that caught on fire.

Officials are taking time to look into the exact reasoning for the start of the fire. Arson detectives have also come in to inspect the area. No statements have been put out about the reasoning of the fire.

The students that were evacuated from the building were placed in other dorms around the campus area until their dorm could be cleared for re-entry. The flames were said to have been so powerfully burning that they were lighting up the sky. Students say that false fire alarms had been happening for weeks so this felt like nothing new until they saw the enormous amount of smoke pouring from the fourth floor windows. There is no word yet on injuries or lawsuits that will be filed from any of the students living in the dorm.

Sex offender Blows up House

Friday, 18 April 2008 07:21 by Admin

Late Monday night, a registered sex offender made a house explode.

The owners of the house had called earlier in the evening to let the police know that they thought he was making bombs in the house and that they wanted the police to check it out. The man has had a few different offenses that have been handled by the South Hill Police Department in Seattle, WA. When the police arrived on the scene, they then proceeded to enter the house. The man immediately upon seeing the police grabbed a few close by bottles and started to run.

After realizing that the man had left a bag of explosives on the floor, the officers evacuated the house. While waiting for the bomb squad to arrive on the scene, the bomb went off in a very violent explosion, which sent debris flying up to 70 feet in every direction. The sex offender was killed, and the entirety of the house was ruined.
