Death Penalty for Child Rapists Denied by Supreme Court

Thursday, 26 June 2008 05:42 by Admin

This past Wednesday, the Supreme Court was completely split on a decision that they made for enacting the death penalty against child rapists. The Supreme Court has been debating over this situation for some time and have finally made a decision as to what the verdict will be.

Out of the 9 Supreme Court Justices, 5 voted no for the death penalty being an option for those who have been convicted of rape against a child. This is the final decision of the Supreme Court which makes any state decision overturned by this decision.

None of the justices have made any official statements as to the background opinions behind the decision that they made. Although there has been an uproar publically about this decision, the Supreme Court has made this decision which makes it final in our judicial system.
