Before certain products can be marketed, they must gain approval from the FDA. Most consumers assume that if a product is approved by the FDA, it's safe for use. However, we're here to tell you that this is far from the case in our opinion. Below is an excerpt from the FDA's own Web site regarding its approach to product approval:
"FDA has streamlined its review process for medical products in recent years to help speed important new treatments to patients. For example, the average review time for an innovative new drug is now only 6 months, and some have been approved even faster."
When it comes to product approval, especially when it concerns prescription drugs, speed should not be the overriding factor. There are countless examples of prescription drugs hitting the market and then subsequently being linked to serious medical conditions, including death.
