Houston attorney John Eddie Williams, Jr. and his wife Sheridan know the true meaning of the holiday season. The law firm of Williams Kherkher announced that the couple has donated $200,000 to the Houston Chronicle’s Goodfellows Fund. The Goodfellows Fund was established to provide toys for needy children of the community. The children range from ages 2 to 10 years old and are always overjoyed to receive a gift during the holidays. This year more children than ever before will be receiving toys thanks to Mr. Williams’ gracious donation. Managing partner of Williams Kherkher, Mr. Williams has donated to the Goodfellows Fund for five years now. His donation this year matches the largest individual donation that the toy drive has seen in its 96-year history.
Goodfellows director Nelle Spates was astounded when she received the news of Mr. Williams’ donation. She commented, “John Eddie and Sheridan’s generosity is truly inspiring. This extraordinary investment in our program will allow Goodfellows to help even more children in the Houston area this year.”
In the past, Goodfellows has been able to brighten the holiday of over 100,000 children each year. That number will continue to grow as long as the organization receives generous donations from good-hearted people like John Eddie and Sheridan Williams. Any donation, no matter the size, helps to bring joy to underprivileged children who deserve to feel the warmth and love of the holiday season just as much as any other child.
Mr. Williams states, “Goodfellows is one of the most impressive organizations I’ve ever been associated with. Sheridan and I appreciate the efforts of everyone involved.”
