Around 3:20pm on Wednesday afternoon, two cars of an Amtrak train were derailed. This occurred as the train was departing from Union Station, bound for Los Angeles, CA. The train consisted of eight cars, and two of the middle cars derailed.
There were 116 passengers in the train, and it is unclear how many of them sustained injuries. It is also still unclear as to whether there was any significant track damage, affecting rush hour.
