A widow in Jefferson County, Texas has filed a second lawsuit against corporations claiming that their negligence caused her husband to develop mesothelioma.
Willie Mae Denson filed the lawsuit on behalf of her deceased husband, Elijah Denson Sr. who worked as a carpenter and furnace technician. During his work he was routinely exposed to asbestos in his workplace. He then developed mesothelioma, a rare cancer that is linked to asbestos.
The lawsuit alleges that Denson Sr. did not know and was not informed of the dangers of the asbestos materials used at his job. Asbestos is toxic when it is breathed in or ingested by humans.
