The New York State Senate has currently proposed a new bill that is aimed to stopped reckless driving. In late March, the Senate called for this crack down in order to cut down on the number of accidents that have been caused because of reckless driving.
The Senate also wants to make aggravated reckless driving a felony and a driver could be guilty of this if they are driving in a way that could potentially cause serious injury. This could be driving while intoxicated or sober.
This could be driving more than 3o mph over the speed limit, racing another vehicle, or driving against the flow of traffic. The bill is now in the hands of the State Assembly.
