A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed after a fatal car accident occurred on June 30 and took the life of a Greenwood man.
The accident occurred when a 52-year-old man was driving a pickup truck and collided with a flatbed trailer that was being towed by a dump truck at the time. The man’s wife was also in the vehicle and she suffered serious injuries as a result.
The wrongful death lawsuit was filed on behalf of the man’s wife and claims that the flatbed trailer somehow disconnected from the truck and crossed into the path of the man’s pickup truck. Missouri Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident at this time.
The dump truck driver and the company that owned the trailer are both named in the lawsuit. The suit alleges that safety chains were not used to attach the trailer to the truck.
